Enameling on Copper: Techniques & Color, 4 Week Series

4-Week Series • 3 Hours Each Week • Max 2 Students

Discover the luminous world of vitreous enamel in this hands-on class focused on adding color and surface design to copper. Over four weeks, you’ll explore multiple enameling techniques while creating your own unique components and finished jewelry.

With only two students per class, you’ll have plenty of individual guidance as you learn how to work confidently with enamel and the kiln.

You’ll learn how to:

• Prepare copper for enameling

• Apply enamel using sifting and layering techniques

• Blend colors and work with transparent and opaque enamels

• Create patterns, texture, and surface design

• Fire safely and achieve consistent results

• Finish enameled pieces and turn them into wearable jewelry

You’ll make:

Students will create several enameled samples while experimenting, plus 1–2 finished pieces of enamel jewelry such as pendants or earrings.

This class is perfect for beginners as well as jewelry makers who want to add vibrant color to their work. No enameling experience is required.
