Circle Hanging Earrings (Cherry Blossom)
Small and dainty, these enamel hanging earrings are the smallest in my line. They are made in a color palette I call cherry blossom and match well with all the jewelry in the cherry blossom collection. The circle measures just over a ½ inch in diameter and hangs 1 ¼ inch with the leverbacks. They can easily be switched to a post style ear wire if specified (this will make them hang 1 inch).
The technique that I use is called Cloisonné Enamel. Each piece of jewelry is created using fine silver, sterling silver, and fine ground glass powder. The glass powder is applied to the fine silver with a tiny paintbrush. Each layer of glass is then heated in a kiln to melt the glass powder and have it become one with the silver that is behind it, this is done multiple times. While the frames for each piece may look similar, the glass enamel artwork within every piece is unique just like their collector.
I like to think that each and every piece that I make can be worn to accent elegant party dress or for everyday wear.
