Square Hanging Earrings (Desert)
This are an example of my cloisonné rounded square enamel earrings in the color palette desert. The glass enamel is encased in fine silver and has a contemporary look. Each pair of earrings are a one of a kind piece that has been artfully created to give the owner a piece of jewelry that only she will have. The squares measure ¾ inch and hang 1 ½ inch. The ear wires are leverbacks but can be switched out for post if preferred.
The technique that I use is called Cloisonné Enamel. Each piece of jewelry is created using fine silver, sterling silver, and fine ground glass powder. The glass powder is applied to the fine silver with a tiny paintbrush. Each layer of glass is then heated in a kiln to melt the glass powder and have it become one with the silver that is behind it, this is done multiple times. While the frames for each piece may look similar, the glass enamel artwork within every piece is unique just like their collector.
I like to think that each and every piece that I make can be worn to accent elegant party dress or for everyday wear.
